4 GOALS OF THE SD67 AREA

 INDIGENOUS EDUCATION ENHANCEMENT AGREEMENT

Goal 1: To raise awareness and understanding of Indigenous history, traditions, and culture for all students and staff in the Okanaga-Skaha School District.

 

Goal 2: To increase Indigenous student's sense of belonging, including sense of place, personal and cultural identity, and self-esteem in a caring, safe and inclusive environment.

 

Goal 3: To nurture and foster relationships between the Okanagan-Skaha School District and Aboriginal families, communities, and organizations.

 

Goal 4: To increase the educational success of all Indigenous students.

 

  • To prominently and proudly display First Nations, Métis, and Inuit culture while honoring Penticton Indian Band and to the local Okanagan culture.
  • To create a place in our school district that allows for students to experience five senses: sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell.
  • To highlight and incorporates the First Peoples Principles of Learning.
  • To reflect the four goals of the Local Aboriginal Education Enhancement Agreement.
